Eligibility Criteria for CLAT: Who Can Apply?   – Academic qualifications required   – Age restrictions and other criteria   – Important documents needed for applicationTo be eligible for the CLAT 2025 examination, candidates must meet specific academic qualifications and criteria set by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Here are the key eligibility requirements: Academic Qualifications1. Undergraduate Program (UG):   – Candidates must have completed their Class 12th or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.   – A minimum aggregate score of 45% is required for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates.   – Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category need a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.   – Students currently appearing for their Class 12 exams in April/May 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.2. Postgraduate Program (PG):   – Candidates must hold a law degree (5-year LLB or 3-year LLB) from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.   – A minimum aggregate score of 50% is required for General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates.   – SC/ST candidates need at least 45% aggregate marks.   – Candidates who are in their final year of law studies and will appear for their qualifying exams in April/May 2025 are also eligible. Age Limit- There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for either the UG or PG CLAT 2025 examination. Candidates of all age groups can apply. Additional Notes- Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before filling out the CLAT application form, as failure to do so may result in disqualification from the admission process.- For international students, including NRIs and PIOs, specific eligibility criteria may apply, and they are advised to check the requirements of individual NLUs.These eligibility criteria ensure that candidates are adequately prepared for the challenges of legal education and can successfully navigate the rigorous academic environment of law schools in India.– Age restrictions 

  • No Upper Age Limit: The Consortium of National Law Universities has specified that there is no upper age limit for candidates applying for CLAT 2025. This means that candidates of all ages can appear for the examination.

  • Important documents needed for applicationHere are the important documents needed for the CLAT 2025 application:1. Scanned copy of passport size photograph   – The photograph should be in JPEG/JPG format   – File size should not exceed 200 KB2. Scanned copy of signature   – The signature should be in JPEG/JPG format   – File size should not exceed 50 KB3. Scanned copies of educational documents   – Class 10th mark sheet   – Class 12th mark sheet (for UG candidates)   – Graduation mark sheets (for PG candidates)4. Scanned copy of ID proof   – Aadhaar Card   – Driving License   – Passport5. Scanned copy of address proof   – Aadhaar Card   – Driving License   – Passport   – Voter ID Card6. Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)   – SC/ST certificate   – OBC certificate   – PwD certificate7. Scanned copy of domicile certificate (if applicable)8. Scanned copy of NRI/PIO/OCI documents (for NRI/PIO/OCI candidates)9. Disability Certificate (if applicable):A certificate issued by a competent authority for candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category.Candidates must ensure that the scanned copies of the documents are clear, legible, and in the specified format (JPEG/JPG). The file size should not exceed the mentioned limits.It is recommended to keep these documents ready before starting the CLAT 2025 application process to avoid any last-minute hassle.
